SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the general committee and men's committee of the Petono Plunket Society was lield in the Pluuket Rooms recently to discuss the financial position. The attendance ineluded Mr Pultinsou (in the chair). Mesdames Evans, Davis, Lanham, Caldwell. Miller, Koach and Jenner, Messrs Brockelbank, and Lochhead. Dr. Tweed, medical adviser to the Plunket Society, gave a lengthy address on Plunket work and suggested several ideas in reference to the financial position. The suggestions put forward by Dr Tweed had already been considered by the committee, but on account of the prevailing conditions in Petoue at the present time, the work was not practicable. The committee would be pleased to receive the names of ladies wishing to become members of the Petone Branch of the Plunket Society. The monthly meeting of the Petono Pluuket Society was held in the rooms, Kensington avenue last Thursday. 'Apologies were received from Mesdames Davis, Lanham and Miss Collie. It was decided to hold a jumble sale on Friday, May 11th. The nursie's report showed 71 visits to home, 404 at rooms. A sub of 5/- was received from Mrs Corser.
