LOWER HUTT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
I The usual monthly meeting; of the Executive Council of the Lower Hutt Chamber of Commerce was held on Thursday evening last, Mr. T. C. Ward presiding. 'The secretary (Mr W. A. lverr) reported that a letter had been received from the manager of the Bus Depart- | nient, Lower Hutt, stating that the | Chamber's request that some fiction be taken with regard to the buses stopI piug at certain intersections and thereby obscuring the view of oncoming motorists, would receive' his immedi- | ate attention and that there would be no further cause for complaint. A'letter was also received from the town cleitk stating that arrangeinen'ts ■were being made to. give e,ffect to. the Chamber's desire that some effort should be made to' rid the Streets of iiower Hutt of stray dogs, and the nuisance they cause. ! A letter was received from the Loaveir Hutt Relief Department asking 'that the ■Chamlber elect one of its members to represent the Chamibcr on that committee, and the president, Mr T. C. Ward, was duly elected. At the conclusion Of the 'business meeting of the Chamber,■■'■a very interesting talk was" given 'by Mr G. E. Clark on the principles of the Douglas Credit System.: The speaker was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks for his address which was listened to with verjr keen interest by all.present.,
