STRAWBBBRY SPONOE, Quarter cup.cold yvffbqr, juice of one lemon, J cup hot water, 1 cup Mria,wberry juice and pulp, 1 cup sugar, 3 egg whites, 1 tablespoon gelatine. Soak gelatine iix cold water. Dissolve sugar in fruit juice and strain gelatine into mixture. Set in very cold water and stir- occasionally until mixture begins to thicken. Then beat until frothy. Add gradually the stiffly beaten eg*g whites and continue beating- until the whole is very light and stiff enough to keep its shape. Pile lightly in glass dish cr mould. ff DATE BREAD. . One cup milk (heat), lib dates, cut fine. Put dates in hot milk. Add J teasx»6onful baking soda and stir. Cool. Combine thoroughly \ cup sugar, 1 heaped tablespoon butter, and beat together" i teaspoon salt, 1 egg. Add 1 tablespoon honey, lh cups flour, $ tablespouri baking powder. Bake about 25 minutes. . TEA BISCUITS. Two cups flour, 4 teaspoons baking powder, 2-3 cup milk, i teaspoon salt, 2 to 3 tablespoons fat. Sift flour baking powder and salt Out in fat with knife. Add milk.to make a soft % dough. This should be done with aslittle miSung as possible,. Roll |-inch thick. -Cut With biscuit-cutter. Place on greased" or floured pan. Beke in hot oven ten or twenty minutes. To make cheese 'biscuits ts-e only tablespon fat. Add 2-3 cup grated cheese.
