CANCER CAMPAIGN.

On Thureday afternoon last, a meet-; ing of those interested in the Cancer Campaign took place in the Council Chambers. Lady Roberts chaired the meeting, and Mrs. Morice (president oif the Wellington Branch), briefly put before the meeting the objects of the" •campaign. Mrs; H. Hadfield, secretary •of the Wellington Branch, accompanied Mrs. Morice. The speaker then said tihat she had come to the Hutt to form a committee to thoroughly canvass the district "for," said Mrs. Morice, "I am convinced that this is the best way to collect the smaller donations." The speaker said that the Wellington Women's Branch were organising. the suburbs, and that they hoped to accomplish this by the new year, so tfrat there was no necessity for haste. The sum deputed for each centre in New Zealand to raise was £25,000, but Wellington was behind the other centres in its efforts on account of the large sums recently raised for the Obstetrical and Earthquake funds. "The clinics," said Mrs. Morice, "are attended by doctors, who examine each case, and the Teport is submitted to the Research Department.''
