"THE COOKOOS."
Professor Bird and his assistant, Sparrow, are fortune-tellers 'who find themselves broke at a Mexican resort. Sparrow has fallen in love with1 Anita, an. American who has lived wittb. a. (band of gypsies, and Julius, leader of tfa.e band, swears he will kill the paxi of quacik mystics.
ißaron de Camp puts Julius and the <gypsies under his command. The baron ■wishes to marry Ruth Chester who has been brought there by her aunt, I^annio Parst, to separate Rath from Billy Shannon, an aviator. Billy, (however, locates Ruth, and flies to Mexico.
Fannie invites the Professor and Spar row to a party, where the Baron has induced Julius and the gypsies to entertain with a knife-throwing exhibition. Julius 's men kidnap Ruth - and the fortunetellers promise Jfonnie they will rescme her neiee. The rescue is
thrilling.
