SCOUT NOTES.
OUBS.
The two Cub packs held a, grand combined parents ' evening on Monday, October. 13th, The hall was decorated with lycopodium, representing the jungle, complete with the moon and stars.
Among those present was the Metropolitan Commissioner, Sir. Alfred Bobin, and Miss Bobin, District Commissioner Nelson, Cubmasters Mrs Hoggard, and Messrs Horlor and Leggot, .and A.C.M., Miss Withington, Bey H. Vi :C. Beynolds and many parents, supporters, and young people, the whole company totalling approximately one hundred^ and eighty peopie. A splendid supper was prepared by the Eover Scouts, who served it with the assistance of Committee ladies, Cubs andl Scouts. Some : Cubs from the new Moera Pack attended under C. M. Emden.
A splendid programme of Jungle dancesy ceremonies and games, was performed, one most exciting being the doing of, a <fgood) turn*'.by the Cubs to a
.mammoth '' Keverwasaurus,'' afflicted ■with toothache, which trouble the Cubs removed, per medium of a huge rope and much exertion. This earned for them the gratitude of the dumb beast, which showed it with joyous, if clumsy, capers. Later in the evening Asst.. Cubmasters Ahem, Shugg, and Allison were presented with their warrants by the Metropolitan Commissioner, through the "Ipise" ceremony, after which the Packs gave the "Grand Howl."
