WOBURN CROQUET CLUB.
The opening of the 1930-31 croquet season took place at the Woburn Green Jaat week. Though the weather was cold, there was. a good attend«/nce _of visitors and representatives from other clubs who were welcomed by Mrs. Monks, president of the elu/b, and the Hon. Secretary, Mrs Kowe. ■ The opening ceremony was perfo-rim-ed by Mrs. Austin, president of ,the Wellington Association, who, in' a short speech wished the elulb every success, and played the first b'aJß through tie hoop. >^ pTetty posiea were presented to Mesdazries Austin^ Nash, Earl MeKeri2sie, 'MonkSj Johnson, Hendry and Bhodes Williams, officials of the Wellington Croquet Association. A most erijoya/blo time was spent iby the visitors -who were entertained with games on the lawns, which, wore deelafed to ibe in excellent condition. The winners of the valrious competitions were as follows:—Target, Me&dannes Smith, and Pawson. C«-olf, Mcsdaane« Williamson and Butcher. HuTry-Se-urry Mesdames Gilllbanlcs and Fairley. Hoop, Mrs. Boundhill.
