CRICKET.
The membership of the Hutt Distriot Cricket Club shows a substantial increase over last "year- and seven teams have "been entered in the Wellington Crie-k'et Association\s competitions. There will be very keen competition for places, especially in the Mgli«r grades, and already much enthusiasm j h&s ibeen shown T>y those who have 'been able to attend the nets. The teams entered are Senior, ■ Junior A, Junior B (2), Third A, and Third B. Practice opened on £th October with a muster of 57 players, whilst last Satin day there were.6s present. These toi'fcls are particularly good considering thatthe days have been somewhat cold for flannels. . ■ The. competitions ■in all grades eomicences on SatuTday next, ISth October and all selected players, as well as reserves should make a point of being on rhe ground at 2 o'clock.
