LOWER HUTT COURT.
The fortnightly sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court was held on 23rd September before Messrs J. Power and M. Hodgins, J.P.'s.
For exceeding the speed limit on various borongh roads the following penalties were inflictgd:—H; Mills and L. E. Harris, 30s each; A, C. Cottle, Kathleen Nathan, J. H. C, Bond, T. Bapson, H. W. Croft ,L. S. Anderson and F. Eeedi 20s eackj C. C. Aitkea. R, G; Thompson, W. Hazlewobd, E. W. Pearse, N. Pomare, H. H. Suckland and P. Vile, 15s each; H. W. Kitchener, S. Boyes, Louise M. Watson, F. S. Driller, 10s each.
For crossiixg the main bridge at more than 15 miles an hour, B. Thomas was fined 30s; F. J. MeCaw, H. "WMtcher, Mis H. Marshall, R. C. Seanlon, A. E. Jones, B. B. Ackroyd, C. McCabe, J. H. Thompson and J. D. Colquhoun 20s each; W. H. McLean, J. H. Moßumey, I*. Byan, R. T. Marshall, E. Barrett, J. W. Pope, J. N. Lloyd, D. J. McKeown, C. Boult, L. Monkman andi M. !N". Armit 15s each; B.J.Calyert 10s
For tui-ning a motor truck .in High street, A. Olouston was fined 20s.
Charged with driving in a manner dangerous to the public, K. H. Downes waa fined £3, P. Jamieson and B. Stevens £2 each, and K. Fakir £1. Miss B. GilMson for allowing a luotor-ear to remaiii stationary in High street more. than two feet from the kerb, was fined £1. B. Stevens, for driving without a driver's license was fined £1.
Judgment for plaintiffs by default was given in the following undefended civil cases: —Westland Timber Co. v. H. G. Diamond £2 lls 74; F. W. Maddams v. C. Wilkins 18s 7d; M. B. Beggs v. J. A. CKragh £1 12s lid; same v. B. F. Appleyard £8 13s Id; B. J. Dudley v. T. N. Hall £14 14s; same v. T. N. Ha3l £15 15s; W. A. Gadsby v. H. E. Sherwood £1 3s 7d; F. White v. W. Hureomb 19s 9d; Lower Hutt Borongh Council v. W.F. Beck £15 7s 2d.
