FREE KINDERGARTEN.
A meeting of the commititee of tßie Lower Hutt Free Kindergarten was held on September 4th. Despite the ibad weather there was a fairly good attendariee.
The Principal (Miss Biley), reported that awing to the prevalence, eaiefly .of rwihooping cough, amongst the children, the attendance had fallen off considerably duaring the winter term. The. Kindergarten is in need of picture Ibooks. Will anyone w3iose children have discarded books send them along" or ring Miss Riley, who will aTrange to collect them? Better still, bring them to the Kindergarten any morning between 10 and 12 o'clock and see tlhe children at work. '
A euchre evening is to he held in the Moera Hall on Tuesday, September IGth, wien.it is hoped there will ibe a large attendance.
If anyone has jumble for the sale on October 4th, will tihey kindly ring Mrs. Dennis or Miss Biley, and arrangements will be made to call for them.
