Lady Koberts has'gono to Christchurch for a short holiday. - ; Mrs. MeHolm is af present visiting iier- sister at Greymouth. 'Word has been received by relatives" from Mrs Hughes, who loft some weeks ago by the " Aorangi" en route for the Old Country. At Suva Mr. and Mrs. Douglas met the boat with their carand drove Mrs Hughes round to see the sights.. Mrs. Douglas was Miss Hendry of the At San Francisco Mrs Hughes stayed for some time with friends, and also stayed with relatives in California. - She'has also visited Vancouver, Salt Lake City and Hollywood. At Honolulu, enquiries proved that the cheapest hotel tariff was £5 per day, and the price of-*a cup of tea, and- very meagre supply of food was 4/7. Mrs Hughes also spent some time in Mexico. Before embarking on the final stage of her journey to England, Mrs. Hughes spent a weekend with Mr and Mrs Diamond Jenness. Mr. Jenness is a son of the late- Mr. E. Jenness and _Mvs. jenness of Lower Htvtt. Mr. and Mrs. A. R, Wright, of WaiweUi, reached London a;bout a fortnight ago, after an excellent. trip. They iwent via Suez, disembarking at' Marseilles, where they entrained for Paris where they spent two or three days. They intend staying .some six months in the_ Old Country. _-
