OTAKI SUMMER MEETING GOOD FIELDS FOB TO-MORROW THE CARD IN REVIEW (Special —from L.M.M.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Otaki Maori Racing Club will conduct its summer meeting on its course at Otaki, to-morrow. The popularity of this club’s meetings is well demonstrated by the large patronage received from Wellington and Palmerston North. This was fully evidenced at the club’s last meeting, when a record crowd was present. Given fine weather, the club can confidently expect to have to cater for another large crowd to-mor-row. To meet the likely extra demand on the totalisator, it is understood improved pay-out facilities, the lack of which was very noticeable at the last meeting, will be provided. Excellent acceptances have been received. The popularity of win-and-place betting was fully demonstrated at the last meeting when speculation was brisk. The same system is to apply again tomorrow. The first race is timed to start at noon. All Blood showed good form at the last meeting in winning the hurdles, and taking a line on that showing he should be difficult to-morrow. Good Sun disappointed at Levin but that was not his true form. He might reveal his true capabilities to-morrow. Dorado is not out of it and might upset the favourites while an improver like Silver River must be respected. The hack six is dominated by the presence of Night Eruption who, how.ever, is also engaged in the open sprint. He will be a warm favourite if started here. Punarua has considerably improved since Trentham and might show up here. Vascones, Dark Water and Hasten are not without prospects. Corroboree was unlucky at Levin in being pushed off the course when in a handy position and with better luck should be in the picture in the main event, the Here Nekitini Memorial. Siegmund was in a winning position in the chief event on the last day of the C.J.C. meeting when interference caused him to lose his position. He will be difficult to keep out of the money to-mor-row. Silvanus has been executing great track work and might surprise. Flying Acre has at last gained the winning list and must be respected, as also must Play On, Rarotonga, who has also a later engagement, ana Lord Moutoa. Coronado made a great effort in the Maiden race at Levin and is the likely favourite in the Manuao Maiden. Kehua is smart and will be troublesome at the right end. Telamon reads the best of the others.

The hack seven should .see good support for Siglow after his line effort - at Levin. White Kajah is overdue 'fdr a win and is expected to show up. The same also applies to Earl Colossus affd Larwood.

The open sprint will see solid support for Royal Star 11, Jeanne, who will improve on Levin running, Boomerang and Flammarion. If started here, Night Eruption will not want for friends. The Napier Park form of The Ring is sure to bring him strong support in the Rahui Hack Handicap and a repetition of that form will make him difficult to beat. However, if started here, Rarotonga is sure to carry the bulk of investments on both machines. Brazil has been working encouragingly and is due for a win. Cherry Picker is improving, as also is Sigurd. Regicide is a likely sort to upset matters, the same also applying to Triiitha, who ran a splendid third at Levin. In fact, if Joe Quinn’s Trivalve mare goes on with it she should be in the money. If started here, Larwood will need to be respected. Golden Enterprise seems to be improving with each race and is due to reach the money. 1 The concluding event, the hack scurry has drawn a good field. Autolite and Hunter’s Eve are the form horses, but improvers like Shining Hours, Nelumbo, Pas de Cheval and Little Dorrit are all smart over the five and are likely to upset expectations. Horses expected to show up in their respective engagements are: — Puketoi Hack Hurdles (li miles). — All Blood, Good Sun. Pukekaraka Hack Handicap (6 furlongs).—Night Eruption, Punarua, \'ascones. Rerc Nekitini Memorial Handicap (1| miles). —Corroboree, Siegmund, Silvanus. ’ Manuao Maiden Plate (6 furlongs).— Coronado, Kehua.
