WARM CLOTHING FOR POLISH REFUGEES

THOUSANDS OF GARMENTS SENT FORWARD (British Official Wireless.) Received Thursday, 9.20 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 22. Part of the £IOO,OOO which has been granted by Britain for the relief of Polish refugees in Hungary and Rumania has already been used. The Government’s fund is being .employed mainly to providfe warm winter clothing for the many thousands of refugees who left Poland in September in only the lightest summer wear. Already 100,000 shirts and 3000 overcoats bought by the Government are on their way and a further 10,000 overcoats and 3000 jackets, 2500 waistcoats, 4500 pairs of trousers and 300 pairs of boots are -waiting to be shipped to Rumania and Hungary at the first opportunity. Britain’s grant is being administered by the Foreign Office with the assistance of the Office of Works, Post Offices Stores Department, Ministry of Health and Crown agents for the Colonies.
