GOVERNMENT ENDEAVOURING TO SAFEGUARD POSITION

Apprenhensive that the enlistment of many farmers and farm-workers will seriously affect production in the county, the Mid-Canterbury executive of the Farmers' Union telegraphed the Premier strongly urging discrimination in enlistments.
Mr. Savage replied that every effort was being made fro safeguard the position regarding farm production.
