IS COMMERCIAL BROADCASTING MAKING LOSSES?
QUESTION FOR MINISTER (By Telegraph—Press Assentation.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Mr. S. G. Holland gave notice in the House this afternoon to ask the Minister in Charge of Broadcasting whether any or all of the commercial broadcasting stations were making substantial losses; had a conference of commercial broadcasting managers been called to discuss and remedy the situation, or had a conference been called to consider political propaganda over the air; had the director of commercial broadcasting left New Zealand on a tour abroad, and if so, was the State paying the whole or part of the expenses, and would he continue to draw his salary during his absence from New Zealand.
