WOMAN’S BODY FEARFULLY, MUTILATED HUSBAND RESIDENT AT LEVIN. (By Telegraph—Dress Association. ASHBURTON, Last Night. Mutilated so fearfully that recognition was impossible, a woman was killed instantly by an express train at a level crossing on the outskirts of the town this afternoon. Late this evening she was identified as Mrs. Mary Kissane, of Ashburton, aged 55, She was cycling over the crossing when the engine struck her, carrying her body 150 yards before it pulled up. Her bicycle was broken in pieces and was hurled into a creek 30 yards from the crossing. 1
Deceased’s husband is at present in Levin. She had no children.
