LEVIN BRANCH.
Notwithstanding the rough weather, more than sixty supporters, women andj men, met at the Koputaroa Hall last evening to greet Mr. G. A. Monk, National candidate for the Otaki elector-* ate. Mrs, Heayns and the secretary provided musical items. Mr. Monk briefly addressed the gathering; and said ho had, come mainly to meet the people of Koputaroa, and not to make a long political speech. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies.
. Mr. D. K. Guy acted as chairman, and at the close of the meeting moved a comprehensive vote of thanks to the ladies, artists, Mr. H. L. Jenkins (pianist), and last but not least, their guest of the evening, Mr. Monk. This was carried Iby acclamation.
OTAKI CONFERENCE
Eighty-five delegates from all branches of the National Party in the Otaki electorate attended the annual meeting of the electorate committee on Monday at Otaki. Mr. John Barclay presided.
The annual report disclosed a gratifying increase in the strength of the organisation. The election of officers resulted Electorate chairman, Mr. John Barclay; treasurer, Mr. W. Horrobin; secretary, Mr. J. D, Avery; auditor, Mr. G. D, Hamilton; executive committee, Mesdames S, W. Barber, I). R. Barron, W. M. Simcox, Colonel C. G. Powles, Captain J, R. Middleton, Messrs. P. H. G Bennett, L. H. Best, J. D, Brown, W. Cromb, C. C. Holmes, C. O’Sullivan, A Reith, W. J. Ross, H. J. Richards, R. Sievers and Harold Smith; representatives on divisional committee, Miss Hammond and Mr. J. Barclay; delegates to Dominion conference, Mrs. A. R. Bryant, Messrs, J. Barclay and L, H. Best.
