WAREHOUSEMEN'S AWARD.
PARTIAL AGREEMENT (By Telegraph —Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Last Night. Partial agreement was reached to-day ip. Conciliation Council proceedings at Wellington oh the application of the soft-goods section of the warehouse em- | ployees for a new award covering Northern, Wellington, Taranaki, Cunjterbury, Otago and Southland industrial I districts. It was agreed that for the purposes of the award the term “warehouseman” should mean any worker except a storeman or packer who was engaged in any capacity in connection with the reception, display, sale, dispatch or delivery of goods in or for the establishment of the employers bound by the award. Overtime is to be paid for at the rate of timeand a-half for the first throe hours,, thereafter double rates, ft was agreed that the proportion of juniors to senior;? in any warehouse or branch warehouseshould not exceed one junior to eacha . senior. The council will resume to-morrow.
