HEAVY FLOODS IN WESTLAND.
SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE ANTICIPATED (By Telegraph—Press Association) HOKITIKA, Last Night. Heavy rain during the past few days became worse during the night, causing heavy floods throughout Westland today. Reports from many districts all record substantial flood damage. The rivers everywhere are very high. The County Council reports that the. flood waters broke though below r the protective works at Koiterangi, and the Arahnra valley is again inundated. The damage is not yet estimated.
