ESPIONAGE CHARGE.
FRENCH GANG ARRESTED. “BEAUTIFUL TATIANA’* AND PERSIAN LOVER Telegraph-Press Assn.--Copyright> Received Monday, 9.15 p.m. PARIS/March 21. Allegations of espionage led to the arrest of a gang including the Frenchwoman Yvonne Talbot, posing as a Russian and known as “Beautiful Tatiana,’’ who is stated to have haunted the Riviera night resorts in order to secure information for a Persian student, Amumirian, for whom she left her Polish husband. Documents in Amumirian’s possession implicated a leather worker, Jean Bastide, who was arrested in December on a charge of selling defence plans abroad. He involved Marcel Oustric, a former Secretary of War, who allegedly possessed plans of fortifications. Another arrest was that of Jean Lassaire, supposed to be the agent of a foreign Power, who frequently visited Spain.
