SYDNEY WOOL SALES.
GOOD COMPETITION (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) Received Monday, 9.45 p.m. SYDNEY, larch 21.
At the wool sales, under good competition from the Continent and Yorkshire, with moderate support from Japan, all well-grown lines both of Merino and crossbred, were fully firm at the closing rates of the previous Sydney series. Skirty and doubtful yielding parcels were most irregular and ruled in buyers’ favour. Greasy Merino fleece sold to 18id. The offering was 10,421 bales, of which 8700 was auctioned, while 946 was sold privately.
