Spender took charge from the pacemaker, Taumau, entering the straight. Chat came solidly over the last furlong and just failed to gel up. Wellington Meeting Concludes. Defaulter Wins Challenge Stakes. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 19. The autumn meeting of the Wellington Racing Club concluded at Trentham to-day in hne and mild weather except for a couple of heavy showers half-way through the programme. The track was very little affected and only temporarily was the going greasy. There was a large attendance and the totalisator handled £70,636 for the day, an increase of £14,709 10s, and the total for the meeting was £112,258, representing an increase of £28,113.
