RUN OVER EY RAKE OF TRUCKS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ] WELLINGTON, This Day. The first fatal accident on the South. Main Trunk railway construction works occurred on Saturday when Augustus -Osea Cottington, aged 48, married, of Blenheim, labourer, was killed instantly by being run over by a rake .of trucks conveying spoil from the tunnel at Oban Bluff to the tip on the sea shore. Cottington was engaged in repairing the rail track and the noise from the air compressor in the vicinity prevent ■ed him hearing the approach of the trucks. The body, which was badly mangled, was removed to Raikoura.
