THE MEDICAL WAY. “Madam, your hat does not suit you!” “Madam, you must put on another atone in weight!” Such candid assessments are part of the practice of “cosmetology,” a new’ phase of medical science which has reached Sydney from Europe, where it' is making rapid -ground., ; ,Make no mistake; cosmetology is no showy piece of insincerity. It is a serious subject based upon established canons of health and beauty. Medical science, indeed, has invaded the beauty parlor. In a Maeqharie Street surgery a doctor said he would not only prolong youth, but would arrest the ravages of old age. “It is just plain horse sense, both for women and men, but especially

women, ” he said. Patients will have the experience of hearing their doctor tell them that the hat they are wearing is quite unsuitable; that theii; style of dressing is, well, hardly the correct thing if they are to do full justice to themselves.
