MINISTER’S DENIAL

A denial that the Minister of Railways or the Department had misled the people of Oamaru and failed in the foreshore protection work there, was issued' by Mr. D. G. Sullivan today, wihen referring to the recent published report of the Borough Council meeting. Mr. Sullivan pointed out that the Mayor and all the councillors except one had expressed themselves quite satisfied with the work done by the Department. Mr. Sullivan recalled that the protection sehems&was origin ally proposed by Mr. Furkert and endorsed by iriany leading engineers. He indicated tihat additional plant was be ing secured, and he prophesied the successful accomplishment of a dilti cult task.
