The directors of the United Press Association yesterday appointed Mr. T, M. Hinkley, at present manager of the Sydney branch, to the position of manager of the head office in New Zealand. Mr. A. R. Cameron, of the head office, has been - appointed to succeed Mr. Hinkley in Sydney.

The appointment of Mr James Henry Fowler as Controller and AuditorGeneral was announced by the ActingPrime Minister (Hon. P. Fraser at the conclusion of a Cabinet meeting last nig'ht. Mr. Fowler, who has been Deputy-Controller and Auditor-General for the past 15 years, succeeds the late Colonel G. F. C. Campbell.—Press Association.
