MOBILE FORCE.
BRITISH ARMY'S NEED. LESSON OF RECENT TEARS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 16. In introducing the Army Estimates in the House of Commons the Minister for War, Mr. A. Duffc' Cooper, said that the experiences of the last twelve years, a period generally regarded as one of peace but during which hardly a single year had passed without some special and unexpected situation arising to interfere with the normal activities of the Army, should convince the House that an Expeditionary For'se equipped to the highest point of efficiency must at all times be maintained.
Dealing with the contemplated developments, he said it had been decided that a mobile brigade containing only one tank regiment would be lacking in punch and protective power, and in future the mobile brigade would consist of a fully-mechanised infantry bat talion.
