NEGLIGENT DRIVING.
JURY’S VERDICT C NOT GUILTY. GBy Telegraph—press Association,' GREYMOUTH, Last Night.' The criminal session of the Supreme Court opened in Greymouth to-day before Mr Justice Northcroft, There was only one criminal case for trial and the Judge congratulated the district on its continued freedom from serious crime.
John Cyril O’Donnell, a trucker, aged 27, was charged with negligent driving thereby causing the death of Wiiliaia Ramsay Burt, in High street, Greymouth, on August 29th last and (2) with failing to stop and ascertain whether he had injured the person and render all such practical assistance possible. The second charge was laid under the new Motor .Regulations of 1936. The jury after a retirement of two and . half hours returned a verdict of not guilty.
