JAPANESE VESSEL CAPTURED AT NOUMEA.
SUSPECTED OF POACHING. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) SYDNEY, July 13. A message from Noumea states that a .Japanese vessel suspected of poaching was chased by the motor ketch Calcdoiiien near Yate for DO minutes and was finally caught and boarded. Six natives armed with tomahawks and spears were put aboard and the vessel was towed to Noumea, where it is detained by the Customs authorities. A lino will probably lie imposed. The Japanese vessel is of 30 tons and lias a crow of 22 Japanese. Seventy up-to-date charts of various Pacific islands wore found on board.
