“CLASH IN PACIFIC”

CHECKING JAPANESE AGGRESSION. BRITAIN, AMERICA AND RUSSIA MUST UNITE

The Foreign Policy Association, in ia book, “Clash in the Pacific,” published to-day, declares that war in the Far East is inevitable unless America and Britain and the ■ -Soviets combine to check Japanese aggression in China. The authors assert that each of "the three prospective Allies is already preparing for war in the Far East. , They cite the militarjr value of ■the civil trans-Pacific air route, the impending naval building race and the re-organisation of the Philippine defences by General MacArthur despite the Philippine independence plan. The book predicts that, unless the three Powers combine, Japan will be “free to choose her time and her opponent,” and will be able to eliminate seriatim all foreign obstacles to her domination in the Far East.
