At the Wimbledon tennis tournament in the women's singles semi-finals, Mrs Sperling (Denmark) defeated Mile. Mathieu (France), (i— ?>, 6 —2; Miss H. Jacobs (U.S.A.) defeated Miss J. J. Jedrzejowska (Poland), b" —4, 6 —2. Men's doubles quarter-finals, Allison and Van Ryn (U.S.A.) defeated McGrath and Sproule (Australia), 6—4 6—3, 6—4; Borotra and Brugnoa (France) defeated Van Ryn and Mrs. Cunningham (England), tj—2, 7—5 5—7, 6—2.
Mixed doubles, (fourth round). —A. Martin Legeay and Mile. S. Henrotin (France) defeated Van Ryn and Mrs Van Ryn (U.S.A.), 6—l, 7—5. Quarter final—Budge and Mrs Fabyan (U.S.A.) defeated F. Ku-Kuljcvie (Yugoslavia) and Countess do la Valdene (Spain), 6—o, C —2.
