FIRE BRIGADE DANCE.

HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL EVENING. The Druids' Hall on Wednesday evening presented a most animated scene on the occasion of the second dance of the present season to be conducted under the auspices of the members of the Levin Volunteer Fire Brigade. The dancing floor, which was in excellent order, was taxed to the utmost for the event, and the happy eveninn- which eventuated left no doubt as to°the complete social as well as financial success of the function.

With bright music supplied by a pair of professional performers, dancing proceeded merrily under the direction of Mr T. Blanchette, who fulfilled the duties of M.C., and of the novelty numbers on the programme, a Monte Carlo wait/ was won by Mr B. .Sklonars and Miss V. Mackenzie, and a "Lucky Spot" waltz by Mr W. Lankshear and Miss M. Henderson. An extra, which was kindly contributed by Miss C:,moron was greatly appreciated, while additional diversion was supplied by several individual items, amongst which were a vocal solo by Mr F. Bignal, an elocutionary item by Mr D. Collier, and a mouth-organ solo by Mr M. Collier.

Following tlio si'i-viiirv of a very appetising supper dancing was resumed until the early hours of the inoriiing. It is the intention of the Brigade to conduct a further similar function at ai: earlv date.
