GIFT PICTURES OF LATE KING GEORGE. ONE FOR LEVIN D.H.S. The basis of distribution to the schools in the Wellington district of the six pictures of the late King George Y., the gift of Sir George Shirtcliffe through the Soldiers’ Civil Re-estab-lishment League, was discussed at the nionthly meeting of the Wellington Education Board yesterday. The secretary, Mr. E. S. Hylton, suggested that three bo balloted for among the Wellington city schools with an attendance of more than 4b(), and the the remainder among schools of the same size throughout the remainder of the district. It was finally agreed that the allocation be on the following basis:— Wellington, 2; Hutt, Blenheim, Levin and Masterton, 1 each. It was agreed that the Masterton picture should go to the Masterton Central School, and on a ballot being taken the successful Wellington schools wore Newtown and Wellington South and Eastern Hutt.
