The strike in the hotels and restaurants being satisfactorily settled, while the building trade strikers are forbidden to parade and no assemblies are permitted. A race meeting at St. Clour was ■cancelled owing to track workers striking without awaiting the authorities’ reply to their demand. “STAY-IN” STRIKERS. Hauliers, is organising to bring to a standstill all motor transport as a protest against the Federal decree increasing the price o| petrol by compelling adulteration rvith a large proportion of fruit alcohol, the product of a Federal alcohol monopoly which is unsaleable in the open market. RIOTING IN MADRID. NUMBER OF DEATHS REPORTED. (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) MADRID, June 12. Two Syndicalists were shot head at Malaga in the.course of Syndicalist and ■Communist rioting. The Socialists and Communists have mostly returned to work, but the Syndicalists are still idle and maintain a violent attitude. Later the Chief of Police was shot ■dead and two children were also accidentally shot dead. The death roll in three days numbers twelye. No newspapers have been issued for five days, and shock police convey the Gibraltar mails to La Sinea in armoured ears. Four were killed in shooting affrays between Fascists and Communists at Burgos and Valladolid. Fascist and Communists were killed in a gun battle at Gumiel and two fatally knifed at Glmedo.
