SOLE CONTROL OF ARMY.

WIDE POWERS FOR KING OF GREECE. i ending tht political DEADLOCK. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) Received Friday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 7. The Daily Mail’s Athens correspondent says the King has obtained the Government’s approval of a new law giving him syle control of the army, •thus enabling him m» solve the political deadlock arising from the Royalist opposition to the amnesty provisions ami the Venizelist and anti-Venizelist parties securing almost the same number of seats in the recent elections. The King, if he wishes, can now overrule the opposition Royalist officers, who refuse to accent even partial reinstatement of the Venizelist officers who wore dismissed or banished after the March revolution. By merely signing a decree he can remove any military leaders opposing him, replacing them with his own supporters. The King’s action is regarded in some 'circles as a step towards a modi.fied dictatorship.
