( After rain had prevented play on the first day of the cricket match, M;C.C. versus Hawke’s Bay, it commenced this morning in threatening weather with a soft wicket. Hawke’s Bay batted first. Worker and Mahoney carried the score to 31, when Langridge claimed two wickets with successive balls. The scores at noon were two wickets for 36.
