Before Justices of tin- Peace, George Apiti Read, farmer, of Eiffelton, pleaded guilty to assaulting Walter Robert. Keen, thereby causing bodily harm. The parties were trustees of a farm in a deceased estate, and a difference arose as to whether a motor-truck sent away had been paid for. In a scuffle in a paddock Keen's ankle was fractured after which the accused dragged .Mm by the throat three or four chains. The accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
