A verdict of not guilty on the grounds of insanity was returned by the jury to-day in the case in which Cecily Fitzmaurice was charged with murdering her infant son at Oamaru by giving him veronal. Mr. Justice Kennedy ordered that accused should be detained in a mental hospital until the pleasure of the Minister of Justice is known.
