OBJECT IN SEA.
MAY BE MISSING PISHING LAUNCH. ' The Director-General, Post and Telegraph Department, has received the following report from the postmaster, Awakino: — "7 p.m..—Reported that a long dark object some distance off shore, and just south of Awakino river, is floating northward. The object appears to be closer to shore than when first seen. Have viewed it through field-glasses, but ami unable to say what it may !'<'. It is just possible that the object is a launch which is reported missing from .New Plymouth.' *
