SCHOOL RE-OPENS.
COMMENCEMENT OF NEW YEAR
Throughout yesterday and to-day the staff of the Levin District High .School have been occupied in reorganisation work consequent upon the resumption of school yesterday .morning for the first term of the year. Although the widespread interruption of •communications as a result of Sunday's storm has interfered considerably with the return to their homes of children enjoying the vacation in other parts of the country, the enrolment of pupils is proceeding apace. The infant depart-, ii'ont has already nearly fifty initial enrolments of five and six-year-olds, while in the secondary department between sixty and seventy students are entering upon their first year, and approximately 110 students from 1935 have returned to school.
