MORRIS-COMMERCIAL FLEETS.
The New Zealand distributors, The Dominion .Motors, Ltd., inform us that p. number of Morris-Commercial truck fleets are operating in the Dominion. One of these belongs to the YVhangarei Dairy Co., Ltd., and comprises longwheelbase 2-ton lorries, and short-wheel base 2-ton tractors and trailers—four units altogether. At the time of writing, these trucks had together covered 72,718 miles. Another concern employing MorrisCommercial transport is the Hospital Omnibus Co., Ltd., of Newmarket, with four six-cylinder long-wheelbase 2-ton-ners. These "buses" had travelled 40,84:j miles by the end of September. MOST POPULAR "EIGHT." When the Morris eight was originally put into production, it was estimated that ;'»").000 units would be required during a period of twelve months. Billowing the fifteen months since it was announced, nearly 70,000 units have been produced and sold, and an outstanding feature of this model is that its popularity shows no sign of waning; orders are being maintained at the same weekly rate as hitherto. Since an all-black finish has been offered generally on saloon types, it has taken second place in public preference, blue being the most popular, third and four places being taken by green and red respectively. |
