Manawatu Seat
MR. LXNKLATER’S NARROW MARGIN.
The election in the Manawatu electorate resulted in the return of Mr. J. Linklater with a majority of 60 over the Labour aspirant, Mr. Hunter. This contest was regarded as one of the hardest to forecast owing to the vote-splitting that was bound to result with five candidates in the field. At the 1931 contest Mr. Linklater scored 4432 against Mr. Hunter’s 2286.
