Complete List of 265 Candidates.
Nominations for the General Election in 76 European and 4 Maori seats closed at noon yesterday. There are 265 candidates in the field, as compared with 189 Mr the 1931 election, and 212 at the General Election of 1928. "This election every seat is to .■ be contested, and in some seats there are as many as five and six candidates. In all, candidates are "contesting the election under seventeen different banners, and this election, more so . than probably ever before, there will be vote splitting. Many who had declared their intention of going to the polls withdrew, and there were also some last-mihtue extra nominations. The election is to.be held on November 27, but the election to return the Maori members will be held on November 26.
