OVERSUBSCRIBED.
MORTGAGE CORPORATION'S HALF MILLION LOAN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Sir William Hunt, chairman of the hoard of management of the Mortgage Corporation of New Zealand, announced to-day that the £500,000 issue of 3 3-8 per cent, securities which was recently placed on the market and applications for which closed yesterday had been oversubscribed. The approximate total subscriptions were slightly in excess of £600,000. As applications had been lodged at post offices, 'banks, etc., all over the Dominion it will be several days before full details are recorded. • Allotments, however, will be made at an early date, and on present indications it may be concluded that the majority of the applicants will receive allotments in full, whilst some of those applying for larger parcels will be proportionately reduced.
