TWO Y'OUNG GRILS FOUND ON
PREMISES.
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) PALMERSTOX N v This Hay.
Discoveries made by the police during a raid upon premises occupied by two Chinese laundrymen, ISS Main .Street, were related by DetectiveSergeant Biekerdike in the Magistrate's Court when Hong Kee, aged 40, and Charlie Kee, aged 77, were charged with having been found in possession of prepared opium. Two pipes, a quantity of opium and smoking material were produced in Court. The detective stated that he with another detective and a constanle visited the accused's pcrmises and made a search, finding all the equipment necessary for smoking opium. "The place was pretty well bairicadcd and was full of opium smoke. The worst feature is that two young girls were living there at the time. It is not suggested that they were smoking, but both were destitute and one was subsequently arrested on a charge of vagrancy." Complaints had been made that white girls had visited the premises.
The accused were each fined £25 for opium smoking and the equipment was confiscated.
