MEAT NEGOTIATIONS.
ARGENTINE'S REPLY EXPECTED SHORTLY. REFUSAL GENERALLY ANTICIPATED. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) (Received This Day, 5.55 a.m.) LONDON, July 10.
The Argentine's reply to the British proposals of a lid levy on chilled beef with a farthing per pound levy on the Dominions' meat, is expected shortly.
A refusal is generally anticipated, which means a continuation of tho Anglo-Dominion arrangements on a quarterly basis. The Dominions offico nevertheless, points out that tentativo arrangements to continue the homo beef subsidy do not necessarily imply no hope of an agreement,, as even if tliis is reached without delay, it would still be necessary to preserve the subsidy for some time until the revenue from the levy reached at legist an equivalent amount.
