WAIPUKURAU CONTENDER OUTCLASSED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Last Night. In a professional 15-round boxing contest for. the Now Zealand welterweight championship staged in the Town Hall last night, the holder Stirling Oamaru) 10.3, easily beat Jim Griffin (Waipukurau) 9M, by a technical knockout in the 15th round. The bout was one-sided and uninteresting. The loser was no match for Stirling, but fought gamely. A preliminary 10-round featherweight professional contest between
C. Duckley (Dunedin) 9.2 and Billy Aiken (Wellington) 8.13, was fast and willing and compensated for the big bout. Aiken is a fast and clever boxer and scored a comparatively easy victory on points. He got a great ovation from the crowd.
