VALUE OF NEW ZEALAND'S PURCHASES
(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) .Received Sunday, 9.50 p.m. LONDON, May 26.
The Sunday Express prominently displays a long article by Mr. Forbes on the editorial page dealing with Empire trade, specially stressing New Zealand's purchases from Britain. Addressing a distinguished gathering of a thousand guests at the Empire Day Jubilee banquet in vast underground hall of Grosvenor House, Mr. Forbes before extolling Britain's heritage, said: "I am ot attempting to sell butter or cheese to-night, nor give figures. I don't want to say what we have done but to show our appreciation of what you have done.''
Sir James Parr and Mr. Coates were present.
