•(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright). SYDNEY, April 17.
The High Court dismissed with costs tfhe appeal of John Wren, financier, Melbourne, from the judgment of the State Full’ Court in favour of the Bank of New Zealand.
The bank claimed £15,225 in respect of a guarantee, the case being heard an April, 1934. It alleged that money was advanced to A. C. Cooke, Limited, on Wren's guarantee, and that the •whole sum, plus interest, was due and had not been paid. Wren denied the effect of the guarantee, and contended that the bank, without his consent, advanced to A. C. Cooke, Limited, an amount in excess of the sum originally stipulated, which was the subject of a cross-action. The jury gave a verdict for the full amount claimed. Wren also failed in his ; cross-action for £18,225. In December the Full Court dismissed Wren's appeal.
