LAY WORRY ASIDE AT THE CINEMA.
"THE HOUSE OF ROTHSCHILD." The screen genius of Mr George Ar- , liss lias never had a finer setting than that providedj in "The House ' of Rothschild," which, will be screened at .the j ßegent for four days, commencing to-day. Another drama by the creator of "Disraeli" and "Voltaire." The story opens in Frankfurt in the early eighteenth century, and traces, in mighty ' sequence, the treatment of Jews by the Prussians- of those days, and the subsequent imigration of the. Rothschild family, who eventually build up a series of banking houses by which they .practically control the . fortunes of - Europe. Scenes such as those of the Napoleonic armies providea colourful background to the financial, exploits of the live brothers, while the whole theme serves to indicate the continual prejudice and persecution against which the Jewish race have had to battle through the centuries. A truly magnificent show which we sincerely recommend.
